We came in for Sunday brunch and we were not disappointed. This place was the best food I've had in New Orleans after many misses elsewhere. A wonderful black-owned place with old school decor. There was a live band place which was on point, great vocals and great choices of music. Our waiter was awesome, Thomas gave us very honest recommendations to the best dishes on the menu. Their oysters redeemed NOLA oysters for me. Absolutely delicious. There were these biscuits brought in for the table which were like a lighter and fluffier version of cheddar bay biscuits. We had the Eugene omelette and steak and eggs with a bed of potatoes which were all mouthwateringly delicious. We passed on dessert because honestly we were too full. But I would definitely go back. The drinks were strong, at least for me. The mint Julep and blue Hawaiian were some strong ones.
We were able to quickly get same day reservations for a large group (10) which was nice since. We were celebrating a friend's 50th birthday and plans changed at the last minute. For most of us, it was our first time at Cafe Sbisa though I had heard many great things previously. The service was great and so was the food. It took a little longer for the main dishes to come out but with such a large group that's to be expected. We were vibing with cocktails, music from the LIVE band, appetizers, and great conversations from friends. There was nothing I ate that I didn't enjoy and were even able to have enough food to take some home! To top it off, it's one of the longest standing restaurants in the French Quarters and Black owned!
The food was phenomenal and the Oysters Sbisa was SENSATIONAL! Big portions and the complimentary butter garlic bread was perfect. The space itself is gorgeous. April was our server and she was super attentive and helpful with any questions & knowledgeable about the menu. She made our dining experience fun & satisfying.
Cafe Sbisa offers some delicious New Orleans style meals. I had the trout and the sauce really made the dish. Service was spotty particularly for the server assistants. How many times do you need to ask for a fork when yours was taken away. The assistant did not bother to keep the water filled. These service mishaps detracted from what would have been a wonderful meal. Cafe Sbisa has a cozy cafe feel to it even though it is relatively large. It's nice as high profile as some of the other restaurants, but it is worth a visit.

Excellent date night place! The food was exceptional and the service was amazing. You really can't beat this price point either. I got the courtboullion and it was so good! Lots of seafood in a spicy tomatoey sauce. My husband got the trout dish and the cream sauce was out of this world!
This place was great! Definitely a little more old school vibe, but I feel like that's part of the charm. The food was great, the portions are definitely big enough to split. Definitely recommend the oysters Sbisa, they were the table favorite. The service was great. Very friendly and attentive.
I Really enjoyed dining here. The ambience is perfect, along with the live jazz band. It just added more of an impressive atmosphere to restaurant. The food was amazing, I throughly enjoyed the lamb chops. It came with a creative corn porridge. If I were to try and give a better description I can't. But I can say OMG it was good. I strongly recommend this place, of course for dinner. But you can even make it a great night for drinks, and live music.
Wow, what an amazing experience! For our final dinner in NOLA, we booked reservations at Cafe Sbisa. The ambiance was really perfect for a date night spot. Mood lighting, live music, and just being surrounded by happy people celebrating different things - it was such a nice atmosphere. And to make the experience even better, our servers Kevin & Dwayne were really awesome. They were always around checking in, refilling waters, and getting us whatever we needed. They even shared some recommendations for other places to go and restaurants for us to check out. As for the food...I don't know what I was expecting, but it definitely surpassed any expectations I had. A few highlights: + prime pork chop - might've been my favorite dish of the night. Whatever sauce/seasoning they had on it was so flavorful and the salty/sweet balance between the pork chop and the mashed sweet potatoes was just a perfect blend of flavors. + steak frites - delicious! Again, the sauce was so good and the steak was already good on its own. The frites weren't anything spectacular and we didn't even finish them. I think we would've liked it more if it were on the side or something. + citrus and herb roasted chicken - thought I'd like this more. Still good but if you have to choose, I'd say go for the pork chop or steak instead. + for drinks, I really liked the blue Hawaiian and Purple Rain. These are definitely on the sweet but strong side so be prepared and have that liquid IV on deck. Overall a great dinner experience. Highly recommend for a nice night out!
